T. L. "Jack" Pirtle

Lynn Pirtle, a veteran of the Memphis Police Department, is a graduate of Memphis Technical High School, LeMoyne Owen College with a B.A. in Business Management and is currently pursuing a graduate degree in Business.

Pirtle, who began his career in law enforcement in 1986, graduated from the police academy as a patrol officer in 1989 and since that time has worked in various precincts, which include: East, West, Central, Downtown, and South He was assigned to Child Abuse Sex Crimes in 2001, as a detective and promoted as a Sergeant Detective in 2003. He is currently assigned to the Sexual Offender Registry Office where he is required to track, locate, and verify the residence of sexual offenders to make sure they are not in violation of the sexual offender law.

Pirtle’s career accomplishments include: co-founder of L.E.A.P. (Law Enforcement Advocating Peace), a Memphis based organization; former executive board member of Memphis Police Association, former member of the CRISIS Intervention Team and lead investigator on several high profile cases in the Memphis area.

His community affiliations include: Make a Wish Foundation, Neighborhood Watch Association, former member of St. Jude Hospital Safety Committee and considers himself a freedom fighter for children and the common people
